Sacramento del Bautismo
We are pleased that you are interested in having your child baptized. Nos alegra que usted esté interesado en bautizar a su hijo.
As you know, the seriousness of the commitment on your behalf invites us to do everything possible to prepare you well. You, and the godparents, are about to make a serious promise to God and His Church, and we are here to help you.
It is necessary that the celebration of Baptism be properly prepared. Baptism celebrates a family’s and Community’s experience of God’s love.
Ceremonies are celebrated in English and Spanish and minimum of two months are necessary to complete with all requirements and registration.
Baptisms are celebrated on Saturdays at 10 a.m. (unless there is a special reason to cancel baptisms on a specific date). A maximum of four infants per celebration.
Como sabéis, la seriedad del compromiso de vuestra parte nos invita a hacer todo lo posible para prepararos bien. Vosotros y los padrinos estáis a punto de hacer una promesa seria a Dios y a su Iglesia, y nosotros estamos aquí para ayudaros.
Es necesario que la celebración del Bautismo esté debidamente preparada. El Bautismo celebra la experiencia del amor de Dios en la familia y en la Comunidad.
Las ceremonias se celebran en inglés y español y se necesitan un mínimo de dos meses para completar todos los requisitos y la inscripción.
Los bautismos se celebran los sábados a las 10 a.m. (a menos que haya una razón especial para cancelar los bautismos en una fecha específica). Un máximo de cuatro infantes por celebración.
Holy Baptism is the basis of all Christian life, the portico of the life in the spirit (“vitae spiritualis ianua”) and the door which opens access to the other sacraments. Through baptism we are freed from sin and regenerated as children of God, we get to be members of Christ and we are incorporated into the Church and made partakers of his mission.
By baptism, God gives us the Gift of being children, giving us his spirit that he may dwell in us. From that moment The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit, most Holy Trinity, dwell in the baptized. The Bible tells us: “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved”. (Mk. 16:16)
El Santo Bautismo es la base de toda la vida cristiana, el pórtico de la vida en el espíritu (“vitae spiritualis ianua”) y la puerta que abre el acceso a los demás sacramentos. Por el bautismo somos liberados del pecado y regenerados como hijos de Dios, llegamos a ser miembros de Cristo y somos incorporados a la Iglesia y hechos partícipes de su misión.
Por el bautismo, Dios nos da el Don de ser hijos, dándonos su Espíritu para que habite en nosotros. Desde ese momento el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo, Santísima Trinidad, habitan en los bautizados. La Biblia nos dice: “El que crea y sea bautizado, se salvará” (Mc 16,16).
